We built wcagdefender because most "compliance" products stop at a widget or a machine report. Neither one, on its own, makes a site usable for real people.

wcagdefender is a veteran-owned business. The same discipline that comes from service — do the job right, document it, and stand behind the result — is how we approach accessibility work. We do not sell a shortcut or a shield; we do the remediation and show our work.

Why automated-only is not enough

Automated scanners are essential — they check every page quickly and catch the machine-detectable issues at scale. But automation can only test the WCAG success criteria that a machine can reliably evaluate. Industry testing consistently finds that automated tools detect roughly 30–40% of WCAG success criteria on their own.

The remaining criteria depend on judgment a program cannot make: Is this alt text actually meaningful, or just present? Does the reading and focus order make sense to a person? The credentials behind the human tier

The manual review is performed by a certified accessibility tester working toward and holding recognized credentials in the field, including the DHS Trusted Tester methodology and the IAAP CPACC and WAS certifications. These are the standard, vendor-neutral credentials for people who evaluate digital accessibility, and they are what a rigorous manual review should be grounded in.
